Grong, the Jungle Lord
General Strat
- The core of the fight is to trigger Grong's Tantrum around 50 rage (the orb has a short cast time). It should be thrown when the boss is in its tank combo. You do this by killing the mech add (the Apetagonizer 3000, 2 in mythic) and using the orb it drops to trigger a Tantrum.
- The boss enrages at 70% and 40%, causing him to gain rage at a faster rate.
- The raid needs to maintain somewhat of a spread, but you need to have a buddy with you in order to not be feared (terrify in mythic) by the boss' Ferocious Roar. When dodging missiles or the melee slam, you need to be mindful of when the next fear is coming so you can find a buddy.
- A tank will be thrown at you during Bestial Throw, run away from it to reduce raid damage.
- Players in melee need to worry about Reverberating Slam which will deal damage to a melee player and anyone in 10 yards. It will then explode after a few moments with Reverberating Echo, which is another aoe damage pulse and knockback (Similar to Kin'garoths spikes he would put in melee).
- Tanks need to worry about the melee's Reverberating abilities as well as the tank combo.
- Players at range need to avoid the puddles that spawn from the Flying Ape Wranglers' missiles with their buddies (use a personal if this overlaps with tantrum).
- Assume melee are going to shit on you with their Reverberating abilities so avoid getting knocked back by the echo.
- The taunt swap on the boss is after Bestial Smash. Call for an external when this lines up with the fear or right before/after a Tantrum. If you have to take 2 (assuming you aren't completely fucked by it) you need to call for everything. The boss will cast 3 abilities which can be Smash or Bite in a row then Bestial Throw. Deals high physical damage and you get thrown at a random ranged player (call when this is happening).
- When the Apetagonzier 3000 is close to death, make sure the boss is far enough from it so he does not gain the 50 rage from being too close. You might be able to tank near it for the first half of its hp then bail out but that might be too much movement and not worth it in the end.
- Tank 1 is Red , Tank 2 is Green .
- Tantrum deals massive raid damage and if it ever gets off above 75% rage you need to carry. Set up a raid cd for each Tantrum. We need to check which Tantrums we can push without other overlaps so we can use stacked cds like link and barrier.
- The tanks are going to get slapped around a bit during tank combo so we need a dedicated tank healer during combo. If the tanks fuck up and take 2 Bestial Smashes be ready to call insta brez. If you are assigned as the tank healer and end up getting feared you need to call backup immediately. At the end of each tank combo there will be raid damage from the Bestial Throw which you can run away from to take less damage.
- There will be more/harder hitting Tantrums as the boss enrages and casts them more frequently. Make sure heavier raid cds are up for the last 30% of the fight as it is likely we may get a couple 75 or 100 energy tantrums. We can only trigger tantrum every 40s due to the debuff so we'll see how that lines up on day 1.
- Watch out for the Reverberating Slam and the following Reverberating Echo explosion.
- Will likely have mobile melee run out to work on the Apetagonizer 3000 and leave slowbois on boss to bait reverb.
- Stick with your buddy while dodging the missile puddles, the tank throw, and when moving towards the Apetagonizer 3000 to take it out. Don't bait missles near the edges of the room.
- When the boss casts Ferocious Roar, anyone that isn't standing right next to their buddy will be feared for 5 seconds.
- Line up each Tantrum with the boss combo as debuffs fall off.

Abilities
Boss- Bestial Combo - Tanks - A combo of attacks that must be tank swapped. Ends with a throw.
- Bestial Smash - Deals high physical damage and causes crushed (stacks).
- Crushed - Increases Beastial Smash damage taken by 500%. Lasts 2s and stacks.
- Rending Bite - Physical Damage dot.
- Bestial Throw - End of combo, throws the tank towards a raid member and does high damage to anyone near the landing point. Deals less aoe damage the farther you get away from the landing zone.
- Reverberating slam - Slams someone in melee damaging anyone within 10 yrds of that person. Causes Reverberating echo shortly after.
- Reverberating Echo - The area hit by Reverberating Slam explodes shortly after it lands. Deals massive damage and knocks anyone who didn't move out back.
- Tantrum - Massive aoe that lasts 1 pulse longer per 25 boss rage. Applies Shattered. The boss automatically casts this at 100% (bad) but can be triggered early by throwing an orb at him in the 50-75 rage range (good).
- Shattered - Dot that lasts 40s. You take 30% more damage from Tantrum per stack of Shattered.
- Enraged Ape - Rage generation increases while below 70% hp.
- Furious Ape - Rage generation increases further while below 40% hp.
- Flying Ape Wranglers - Fire missles at players that leave a flame patch on the ground.
- Apetagonizer 3000 - Mech add spawns randomly around the platform and stands still giving the boss rage. Needs to die fast to prevent this and get its orb.
- Apetagonize - Shocks the boss, giving him 10 rage.
- Lightning Detonation - Upon death explodes, knocking back anyone within 15 yards. If Boss gets hit by this, he gains 50 rage (BAD).
- Apetagonizer Core - Drops an orb when the add dies. Picking it up gives you a 1 minute dot while holding it and an extra action button. The button shocks the boss, dealing 5% of his hp and triggering his tantrum early so the raid gets hit by less ticks at once.
- Ferocious Roar - Deals aoe damage and causes anyone who isn't standing next to a buddy to be feared for 5 seconds.
- Apetagonizer 3000 - 2 Spawn at a time.
