King Rastakhan

General Strat

  1. The fight starts with 3 adds and the boss. Things to look out for from the boss are the Toads coming from Rastakhan, the Serpent Totems that spray fire in front of them, and the tank that has to be out of the raid when Scorching Detonation Explodes. Dotting the boss will damage all the adds, split evenly.

  2. For the adds, the big boi Siegebreaker leaps to a player which deals split damage that the raid needs to soak. He will then leap to the tank, causing a taunt swap on him.

  3. Prelate Za'lan will be beaming someone in the raid so kite it out/avoid other people's beams.

  4.     Phase 2 begins when the adds all die.
  5. Rastakhan retains his Toads ability and his Scorching Detonation tank ability. He also gains a Zombie Dust Totem that mcs 2 players until the totem is destroyed.

  6. The critical ability in phase 2 is Rastakhan's Plague of Fire. It places a debuff on a player for 1.5s that explodes for fire damage to anyone in 7 yards then spreads the debuff to anyone hit. It is critical to spread and not panic when this ability is coming out.

  7. Bwonsamdi will be up but will absorb all damage taken. He will dot anyone within 30 yards (45 in mythic) of him and place Death's Door debuffs on players. When this debuff expires, a Death Rift will appear where it expired. You can make a wall of Death's Doors such that the p3 death realm players don't need to move.

  8. Bwonsamdi will also hit the tank with Caress of Death, preventing all healing taken for 5s.

  9.     Phase 3 begins when Rastakhan reaches 60% health.
  10. When the boss phases, Bwonsamdi pulls the closest half of the raid into the death realm.

  11. Rastakhan retains his Scorching Detonation, Zombie Dust Totem and Death's Door abilities. He also gains the buff Bwonsamdi's Boon, which increases his damage dealt by 2% every 15 seconds and stacks.

  12. Adds also spawn in the living realm during this phase which are cc-able for the first 60 seconds of them engaging. The location they spawn in is based on where they died in phase 1.

  13. The Phantom of Retribution will cast Seal of Bwonsamdi which fires missles that must be soaked or the raid will take aoe damage.

  14. The Phantom of Slaughter will channel a mind-flay ability called Focused Demise into a player. Only that player can kick this.

  15. The Phantom of Rage will use Necrotic Smash which decreases healing taken by 75% for 8s. This can be tanked away and dodged with a teleport or dash.


  16. Bwonsamdi will retain his Caress of Death ability from phase 2 and gain Rastakhan's Plague of Fire. He will cast Inevitable End which pulls players into a killzone around him, preplan to run out for this succ.

  17. Players in the death realm will need to drop their stacks by stepping into a Death Rift. You need to stagger who is dropping stacks as the raid takes damage everytime you do.


  18.     Phase 4 begins when Bwonsamdi reaches 50% health.
  19. When the boss phases, Bwonsamdi returns to the living realm with the death realm players. He morphs into Rastakhan.

  20. The bosses will cast Scorching Detonation, Plague of Toads, Plague of Fire, Death's Door, and Inevitable End from previous phases. Rastakhan will be constantly creating Death Rifts with All Encompassing Death.

  21. Tanks

  22. For every phase with Schorching Detonation, remember to run out far from the boss and use some teleport/movement ability to get back fast.

  23. Call for an external for the taunt swap in phase 2 or for the Caress of Death ability from Bwonsamdi if you think you'll need one to survive the 5s of no healing.

  24. In the last phase, the Rastakhan tank will need to move away from the Death Rifts during Inevitable End.

  25. Healers

  26. In P1, raid damage comes from the tank running out with Scorching Detonation and the split Meteor Leap ability from Siegebreaker. Make sure to heal off the Grievous Axe's bleed debuff as it doesn't go away until the player is healed to 90% health.

  27. In P2, if the Plague of Fire gets out of hand, we will need a burst throughput cd like revival to stabilize. When Bwonsamdi inflicts the tank with Caress of Death, that tank cannot be healed for 5s. Try to keep the Bwonsamdi tank topped off and use a cd on them if you fall behind.

  28. In P3, the raid will be taking burst damage whenever death realm people clear their Deathly Withering stacks by running into the Death Rifts. The other raid damage comes from missing Seal of Bwonsamdi missile soaks, the Phantom of Rage's Smash ability that applies a -75% heal debuff, and the other abilities from previous phases.

  29. Dps

  30. In phase 3, if you are in the living realm avoid killing the adds until we phase into P4. In mythic these adds will repawn in the death realm if you kill them up top in phase 3.

Phase 1
    Rastakhan

  1. Bind Souls - Rastakhan absorbs all damage and transfers it to the adds evenly.
  2. Scorching Detonation - Tank - Channels a fire beam into the tank that explodes for aoe damage based on far away the tank gets.
  3. Plague of Toads - Unleashes toads the hop in a line, leaving nature damage puddles where they hop. Getting hit by a toad causes it to die and apply a stacking dot to the player.
  4. Greater Serpent Totem - Spawns a totem that casts Serpent's Breath, a fire cone attack that deals high damage then applies a dot.

  5. Adds

  6. Prelate Za'lan
    1. Seal of Purification - Channels a beam that follows a player, dealing damage to anyone caught by it.
  7. Siegebreaker Roka
    1. Meteor Leap - Leaps to a player causing split nature damage. Uses crushing leap right after.
      1. Crushing Leap - Leaps to the highest threat target, dealing heavy physical damage and applying Crushed. Crushed increases damage from crushing leap by 500%, stacks.
  8. Headhunter Gal'wana
    1. Grievous Axe - Throws an axe at a player dealing moderate physical damage and applying a dot that lasts until healed above 90% health.
Phase 2 - Begins when the adds die
  1. Schorching Detonation - Same as phase 1.
  2. Plague of Toads - Same as phase 1.
  3. Plague of Fire - Debuffs a player with an aoe fire dot that lasts 1.5s. If anyone is within 7 yards when it expires, it spreads to them, cascading until all debuffs are spread out.
  4. Zombie Dust Totem - Mind controls two players until destroyed.

  5. Bwonsamdi

    1. Unliving - Absorbs all damage taken.
    2. Aura of Death - Applies deathly withering to players within 30 yards. Deathly withering deals shadow damage every 3s and stacks.
    3. Death's Door - Shadow damage dot debuff that spawns a death rift when it expires.
      1. Death Rift - Portal between death realm and living realm. Stepping into the rift while in the death realm will clear all stacks of deathly withering and triggers withering burst in the living realm.
        1. Withering Burst - Explodes dealing shadow damage to all players.
    4. Caress of Death - Tank - Deals shadow damage and prevents all healing taken for 5s.
Phase 3 - Begins when Rastakhan reaches 60% Health. Bwonsamdi pulls the closest half of the raid into the death realm with him.

  4. Bwonsamdi's Boon - Rastakhan increases his damage dealt by 2% every 15s, stacks.

    1. Grave Bolt - Shadow damage cast.
    2. Seal of Bwonsamdi - Unleashes missles for moderate shadow damage that must be soaked. Any left unsoaked will trigger Bwonsamdi's Wrath.
      1. Bwonsamdi's Wrath - Deals moderate shadow damage to all players in 40 yards.
    3. Undying Relentlessness - After 60s, the caster is immune to cc.

  7. Phantom of Rage
    1. Necrotic Smash - Pounds the ground dealing moderate shadow damage and decreasing healing taken by 75% for 8s.
    2. Undying Relentlessness - After 60s, the caster is immune to cc.

  8. Phantom of Slaughter
    1. Grave Bolt - Shadow damage cast.
    2. Focused Demise - Channels shadow damage into a target, only the arget can interrupt this cast.
    3. Undying Relentlessness - After 60s, the caster is immune to cc.


    Bwonsamdi

  9. Caress of Death - Same as phase 2.
  10. Plague of Fire - Same as Rastakhan in phase 2.
  11. Inevitable End - Bwonsamdi creates a zone of death around him and sucks players in. Getting hit by the zone after the cast instantly kills the player.
  12. Dread Reaping - The moving puddles?
Phase 4 - Begins when Bwonsamdi reaches 50% Health. Bwonsamdi pulls the death realm players back to living realm.

  1. Schorching Detonation - Same as phase 1.
  2. Plague of Toads - Same as phase 1.
  3. Plague of Fire - Same as phase 1.
  4. Death's Door - Same as phase 1.
  5. All Encompassing Death - Rastakhan creates death rifts around him.
